Envoy Fellas,
Let's remember a few things here -
First - the phrase "In Unity" means something - badmouthing fellow ALPA pilots, especially those that adhere to the same brand as us, is as best, unclassy. At worst, it's disgusting. It doesn't matter how you interpret previous events, the pilot group at any other ALPA driven airline are your union brothers and sisters.
Second - The MEC consist of a group of Envoy Volunteer pilots. If you don't like what they're doing, volunteer and do things differently. These guys are out there working with information that changes daily, and truly have your best intrust in mind. I will reference yet again my comments above about badmouthing fellow ALPA pilots, only remember these individuals are giving up FREE TIME to solve problems you're unwilling to solve yourselves.
Third - AA and other airlines received favorable paid-leave deals because those were negotiated into their contract. Like it or not, our contract always banked on the side of improving flow vs quality of life. When the world market tanks, the flow tanks. Other unions recognized this to a degree better than we have previously. Let's not forget this lesson moving forward.
Fourth - The federal bill protecting airline pilots jobs may say we're all gainfully employed until October 1, following that, is anyones guess. If members of our pilot group take VOLUNTARY leave in an attempt to take care of themselves, their fellow pilots, and the company, so be it. As scary as May looks with 33 175 lines in Chicago and 0 145 in NY, October's projections are terrifying.
Again - we're all in this together. We'll need to work with PSA, PDT, AAG, ALPA, and yes Envoy to get to working solutions. This is going to be tough. Be together.
I think this is where I'm suppose to say something like "In Unity".
