I really don't care much for or against this deal. There are so SO few people that this wold work for I don't really see it as an issue. For one, it's completely voluntary. It effects no one that doesn't want it, except that if this the only LOA that is ever offered, the fewer people that take it, the more furloughs later. That said, I really do expect better offers later.

For one, if you can bid some seniority of any kind to reserve and you live in base, you'll have the same sort of quality of life as this but with 75 hours pay... why would you even bother with this. Someone out of base but senior would still likely do better than this on reserve, all said. Early permanent leave will make more sense to lifers than this. If you're junior, you can't afford it unless you can 'drop orders', perhaps it makes sense to them... perhaps they're smart enough to say no and wait for something better.

Just saying, let the 10-20 or so pilots this makes sense for decide, the rest of us will wait on something better. I will never mind options we don't take concessions for.
