If already in the field, cite your safety concerns with the DO and ask to be removed from the China leg—you’ll be put in EMG (emergency) status and your trip is over immediately —then catch a jumpseat home. Credit hours for activities removed are supposed to go to your general makeup bank or you can elect to use vacation credit hours (via email) IAW CBA 25.L.13 and 7.A.11–stay safe out there!
