It doesn’t work like that. They can’t just start canceling flying if they don’t get enough colas. Tickets are normally sold months in advance. There’s government penalties for canceling last min. Now what I just said is in a normal environment. Who know what the regulations are right now? Bottom line the company doesn’t make block decisions based on colas. They make them based on loads and more than likely government mandates for accepting grants. I have a feeling once pilots get a look at May lines they’ll get enough May colas. Also they have the ability to waive the vac or training cola restrictions to get more. So knowing that if you want a May cola and have vac or a training grace month I would still bid for one.
