The problem is other companies including the ULCCs have offered SILs. We are lagging in this area and every month that goes by we lose on potential savings. I fear after May we will have no takers on a June SIL because when they see 150-200 guys on reserve in one category getting paid to do nothing, why take an SIL for 20 less hours?
Just watch, the counter argument that Mgmt will make will be: "SEE? Hardly any pilots took them, so we got no savings. We told you we needed ALV relief" But the fact is
they missed their window for those savings by their own intransigence.
