That was also the reason for my response. Kalitta is no longer an “outfit” where pilots can find temporary refuge until their “real” job opens up again. I find it incredibly insulting that someone would think it was 2006 again. Unless the aforementioned pilot was a check airman instructor I cannot see where they would bring a skill set sufficient to offset the training costs for a short term stay.
Maybe he is willing to resign at UAL with a class date at Kalita before he is furloughed?
