Tamiflu for the regular flu is the same way. You either take it in the first 48 hours or it’s essentially worthless.
It's not that bad. Several folks around here (central NJ) have had to be hospitalized and put on high volume 02 before they started to get it. It seemed to keep the disease from evolving to the stage where a respirator/ventilator would have been needed and they got well enough to go home and finish convalescing there.
