And as much as guys hate SC/FSB, having them readily available would short circuit most PPU opportunities. Until things improve, I'd rather have junior guys sucking up SC/FSBs and staying gainfully employed than senior guys enjoying the occasional PPU. Ironic then that we as a group have been pushing the company to reduce SC/FSBs. Perhaps that should be sidelined until things improve.
The bottom line is that I don't think someone who gets a PPU is going to keep anyone on the street longer. I haven't seen one in quite some time now, so I wouldn't be too harsh on anyone who gets lucky.
Picking up straight Open time? Now that is indeed a foul.
So what about the guy who drops a trip and then picks up another trip later in the month to make up for it? That still a foul?
Ex: Pilot drops a 3 day due to needing time off but nothing is in open time. Then later in the month a 2 day pops up and he picks it up to make up the lost pay.
