As someone who will be furloughed if the company goes that route, then do it. Look at how much money the company would save by furloughing 10%, 20%, and 30% of the pilots. If the amount saved on concession is going to keep the company running, then they have some serious financial revenue issues that a furlough is also imminent.


Nobody should want to take a pay cut, still get furloughed, and come back to that same pay cut.


Let the company continue its proud tradition of no furloughs based on no concessions.
Well I think after 9/11 SWAPA did offer some concessions to "supposedly" save furloughs, but the company is a lot bigger now and what some fear is that they will get concessions and then furlough anyway this time. It's a lot easier to keep the no furloughs bit going when your smaller, gets to be harder when your large.
It's like the housing market takes a 15% dip, the guy in Cali sitting on a $1million ranch home that has to liquidate eats $150K loss, the guy in OK who was in the same house that was selling for $200K only sees a $30K decline.
