The models show that it's not a 1 for 1 trade off. Mitigation strategies do lessen the total number infected. But this half-ass lockdown might be push the number and duration up.
Dr Faucci has made multiple statements that we are trying to increase the length. And that if we let it run wild it would be over quicker. This spreads out the cases and allows hospitals to not be over run. It isn't complicated.
How would mitigation strategies that aren't perfect increase the amount of people infected VS doing nothing?
