Again, government interference is ruining lives, because we are denied the opportunity to bury the dead as we normally do.

Twice the flu death toll is a rounding error when considering all US death numbers. 40k out of 3 million is hardly an overwhelming increase. Add to that, many of those dying were coded as COVID-19 for $$$.

Strip out the emotions and look at the numbers. Obesity related deaths far outpace the Wuhan Flu death toll. Face masks are probably saving more lives by keeping fat people from eating than by preventing the spread of the virus.

Here’s a controversial idea. Let the virus take its natural course, wiping out the weakest in society and let the strong survive and thrive. Many of those dying have one foot already in the grave, some of them put their feet in by choice (drinking, smoking, eating, etc.) The burden on the healthcare system would actually be reduced, because those using the most resources would be gone. Medical care for self-inflicted diseases is overwhelming the system far more than COVID-19 on an annual basis. Why do we have to shut down the country because of them. Sure, some young, healthy people will die, but young healthy people die all the time from accidents and freak illnesses.

We are also ignoring the unintended consequences of preventing the spread. Nobody has created a death counter for that. In times of crisis, we crave certainty. People bought up toilet paper because it was one risk they could 100% eliminate. We are behaving in the same manner on the Wuhan Flu. If we could quantify with certainty the unintended consequences, we would take an entirely different approach.

Critical thinking hurts because it challenges your brain. It was a challenge to actually write parts of this post, because I found the topic uncomfortable.
Tell you what. Go intentionally expose yourself. Let’s see how you do with it. My wife and daughter suffer from Asthma. They didn’t cause it. Are they part of the weak that should die?
