Budget 1000K a month, in a couple years you will have a private, commercial, instrument and a couple hundred hours. Many of us did it this way, hard work yes, but it's better then being 100K in debt, especially nowadays.
That's not realistic for most people in most places in the US. Plus, it is seniority based, so the idea is that you want to get to your destination as fast as possible.
