The alliance situation is a key point to consider. Although one can’t say our Star partners are by any means healthy (even LH is badly, badly mired down) we are MUCH less reliant on Star than Delta is on Skyteam. UAL could be much better positioned to provide reliable international service as things recover simply because we keep so much flying in house.
