Unfortunately that ain’t the way minor leagues work. What currently happens IS like the minor leagues. If you’re preforming well AND get lucky (ie the right guy ahead of you starts to suck or gets hurt) your number gets called from sub-AAA up to AAA.
Then, if you perform well there (akin to your interview) you go to the big leagues. When your time is up in the majors you retire and go to pasture, 99% don’t go back to AAA.
We currently have a minor league system, what you want is a national, or brand, seniority list.
A brand seniority list could work for low time civilian pilots who hire onto a regional and then move up when their seniority allows, but what would that do to military pilots? Should they serve 15-20 years and then have to start over at the bottom of a regional pay scale with people fresh out of a Cessna?
