this will inevitably be larger and more complicated so it may take longer......my guess is that this notice to the pilots is a formality. My bet is the SSC and crew resources already know how this is going to go down and already have an agreement in place.

There is no agreement required. The Company has just started step number 1 in the process. They submitted this NPDM to the SSC as required by our contract. The SSC can now make recommendations, but the company has the final say. I only point this out because it seems, from other forums, that pilots are directing anger towards ALPA for not being forthcoming with the details. They likely just received this NPDM.
