UA said nothing really about UAX in their town hall today, but they were beating the "get ready for furloughs" drum hard. I really thought SK was gonna cry which...well it's doesn't inspire confidence.
Personally, I don't see how they permanently cut UAX in favor of mainline medium term. It's down gauging in a time of low demand, and it's cheaper labor. Why am I wrong?
Because when mainline renegotiated there contract they made sure that mainline has to keep a percentage of flying in house. Mainline pilots learned for the ‘08 recession where regionals were able to expand before furloughed mainline got a call back.
