Refresh my memory, you’re a PI currently? If so what’s the vibe among current PI’s as far as sticking it out over the summer to train ones replacement? I’m just curious how all the junior PI’s that are likely going to be on the street feel about the challenges they will be facing in the next few months. I truly feel for them in this situation as I can’t imagine what the mental toll would be like. Knowing that each student you’d be training is there against their will and is also likely under a lot emotional stress.
I don’t know t ugh e answer to your question.

what I can tell ou is that I’m certainly not safe from furlough.....if they furlough 3500-4000 then I’ll be either the United old or one of the last ones out the door. But I’m not going to let that affect my job.....If United kills people de to poor training then we will all be hanging up our pads.......

but yes in times like this I can imagine people are not thrilled about being in training and will have other things in their minds. There will probably be a spike in failures and retrains. The instructors will need to keep the students very focused and that is a lot of work.
