This isn’t like other situations. I’m not surprised by the airline reaction to retire aircraft. Look at what’s being retired. 737NG (pickle fork anyone?) 757 767 - each is an expensive liability. This is an excuse to jump. It was gonna happen anyway just slower. Yes it’s a crisis. But this whole crisis from the covid to everything down the line has been a huge exercise in overreaction. The Cares act buys labor time to see if this bounces back or not. Let’s keep a wait and see attitude without giving away the store.
