Is it not possible to write off job search expenses in your tax return? You know, that little piece on Schedule A of your Form 1040? If I were your representative, I could make an argument that going to job fairs is but one way to look for a job. Just a thought for those sitting on the fence and using itemized deduction instead of the standard deduction.
