could be worse, could have resigned from your old job then class cancelled or got let go, I had two friends at two carriers that that had happened to.
When I next give advice to an aspiring pilot, it will be, "Don't quit your current job until the last second possible. Take vacation, call in sick, do whatever to stay 'employed' until you're as far through training as you can be."
