LA flying will most likely be done by Skywest as AAG will continue to outsource when able to save a dime. Mesa will stay in the area for whipsaw purposes to keep Skywest in check. Envoy will be around for filler, but the probability of Envoy opening a base in LA is significantly lower than the probability of THKooj getting a lengthy furlough.
The LAX thing is like an urban legend and has been circulating around almost as soon as the base closed the first time. I can remember on day two of indoc many moons ago RW coming in and saying LAX was right around the corner.
