Some of the folks in the SWA thread are gloating over the fact that their competitors, the “Big 3”, are going to have a very difficult time over the next few years. There are tens of thousands of your fellow aviators over at the Big 3 who may/will be devastated by this. To gloat over that fact is absolutely classless.
That’s virtue signaling plain and simple. One can be both saddened that the industry is taking it unlubricated in the keister while being hopeful that their company takes advantage of the situation moving forward. The ruined careers and upset lives stink. No way around it. Feel free to donate liberally to efforts to support your fellow pilots. I assure you that SWA’s C suite, and perhaps those of a few others have aggressive plans on simmer dependent on how this shakes out.
