It depends on what you get paid and what tax bracket you are in. It could be as little as $0 or even as much as $700. Either way, if you are able to deduct your dues, the fact remains that your effective dues rate is less than the 1.95% that some of you Skywest keep using as a comparison to ASA pay rates. Also, let me remind you that not everyone pays dues at all. Probationary pilots (one year or more) pay ZERO dues and non-members pay nothing as well (unless their MEC policy requires a shop fee - 1.45%). Its NOT an apples to apples comparison because of that and because the dues money pays for a whole lot more than negotiating pay rates.
That is all I was trying to say with that.

I believe Mr. Williams has previous union experience. A union that has thee most contentious relationship with their employer right now. So I don't know if the second year f/o comment was justified. In any case, he was democratically elected into office, he can be democratically elected out of office. Maybe he can even be recalled before then?
