Five years at a major, likely going to be furloughed. Passenger traffic forecasted to return to pre-CV levels in 2022/23. FedEx and UPS are both hiring, and cargo seems very immune to the typical calamities that torpedo AA/DL/UA, especially in a social distancing Amazon-dominated world.

I left WN off the list because they planned for a rainy day and will likely survive this.

Will be applying to FedEx and UPS this weekend.
Speed Select,

To directly answer your question...Go with your gut b/c only “you” know you and/or your family’s personal situation during these times.

As for Brown...HR has hired previously furloughed pilots from Majors in the past. So it’s definitely still possible.

The uphill climb is going to be that Brown has been “burned” (for lack of a better word) by the post 9/11 furloughed pilots when after a few years...the recalls started, they quit Brown and returned to the Airline with which they still had a seniority number.

Agin, it’s not going to be impossible to get hired here, however, with the current environment shaping up and the past experiences, things might be difficult for furloughed mainline folks with line numbers.

Having said all that...it’s a proven fact that you will always miss 100% of the shots you don’t take. So if you’d like to join us trash haul’n crowd and it’s calling your name...go for it!

...In the end...with 5 years seniority, hopefully you can ride out this storm and not go through a furlough.

Best of luck!
