There were dollar figures supplied in the original posting, and I combined those numbers with other numbers that I crunched. The fact is that there is $55 million (a conservative estimate...probable more) that they do not account for in that "release." My point was that if I was an ALPA member, I would like to know where that $55 million (+/-) goes every year. My other point just has to deal with what I read on here. There are no doubt many, many issues facing professional pilots today. If the ALPA has $55 million to play around with, or even a fraction of that, I would think that there would be more progress towards these issues than I have observed as an outsider. Maybe I would see things differently if I was actually flying the line. No need to get your panties in a wad.
And I explained to you where the rest of the money is/goes - the MCF. The MCF has $85 million in it. Also, ALPA, like every other union, is required to file reports with the DoL. You can look all this up for yourself.
Things would have been a lot worse if it were not for pilot unions. Can things be better? Sure, that is why some of us volunteer our time and effort rather than just complaining why things are not better.
