You like the “keep the hearts and minds” of the employees trick? That’s what they did with the pensions. UAL’s lead attorney admitted after termination that they never had any intention of saving them from day 1 of the bankruptcy. However, it was important to string the employees along believing they would. Remember, Parker is the guy that not long ago boldly proclaimed that they would never lose money again.
