Top half of the list at a legacy is VERY senior. Especially with retirements, which don’t stop regardless of any other factors.
It may not be all that senior in a few months. Seniority is relative. Mid level at a legacy gives you way more options and QOL than someone who is very senior at a smaller regional, but bidding power at your company isn’t that great. My seniority used to mean that I could barely hold a line as a NB captain in most, not all bases, or a very junior WB line holding FO going to landings class every 90 days because you can’t hold a flying seat. I’m not willing to 2 leg commute to either coast, so I restrict myself to the more senior bases. If I could get to SFO easily, then I’d feel pretty senior.
