if they don’t announce furloughs until 30 days prior, that 2001st pilot and 500 more pilots (CLazurus or LeeFDX can scour the seniority list) get man-for-man pay protection until the furlough of all the junior displaced pilots is announced.
it’s significant because Unless you’re getting bumped off the 756, the company is going to save money bumping you. I think the tough part for the company is knowing where to start training. They say they want to stay flexible, because obviously the next real hurdle is whether or not we have to shutdown again on the fall. IMHO, no fall shutdown (and 1. the blue governors who want to F Trump open up their states 2. The red states who Naively thought they were safe don’t see big spikes) means we’ll be at 80+% next summer. If we have to shutdown this winter, the whole economy, including airlines is going to be in a world of hurt.
There may be a 2nd wave, but a second shutdown won’t happen. We won’t be caught with our pants down again. We are arresting people for sitting on the beach, surely we can’t be this dumb of a populace.
