As far as I remember, you can only have a certain max income and assets for medicaid. Maybe like 800 bucks a month and maybe like $500 or $1000 in assets. Anything beyond that, Medicaid could "take" to offset the cost.
Yep understand, been through same on my end too. Problem is, the checks are considered tax credits. FTC is about to come down hard on some nursing homes if they don’t reimburse the money.
