I was NYC based for several years but lived in PA not CT. Bucks County is northeast of Philly and is nice. Costs less than NJ and CT. Just about an hour drive to EWR so you can sit shortfall from home. It might be an option for you to consider.
I second this. I grew up in CT and live in NEPA now. It’s a beautiful part of the country. There’s no way I would ever entertain moving back to a high-tax state like CT.
