I think we are all confusing DHL with their ACMI companies. DHL does not have any pilots in their US operations. Everything is contracted out to ACMI carriers. I'm not sure what purchasing DHL's U.S. business would give us other than removing some competition. Most of their delivery routes are contracted out too.
They just threw a bunch of money at Polar but that lift could be used anywhere and not just in ILN. ASTAR guys are negotiating a contract so maybe this is a made up story to force a substandard agreement on you.
It's fun to speculate but it's all business and I'll believe it when it's "painted purple".
