What is not mentioned in the article is that Ships 3513 thru 3515 and all subsequent A350 have a PIP that cannot be retrofitted. It has a new wing twist and larger winglets. This adds an additional 11,000 GW and an additional hour of flying.
This makes the perfect case to NOT take the used 350s from LATAM. I bet even if we took them we would find a way to swap them out with new planes with the PIP. Anyone remember our first round of buys from Airbus from the Pan Am merger?
