When a contract is negotiated by the union and the company it is with a total dollar value in mind. Weighing what the company can generate through revenue streams and basing our compensation off of that. We did not base our current contract on the fact that swa would be flying strictly cargo trips.

Again I’m not totally against it, but I would have at least like to have seen a gesture of good will. Some examples could have been closing some of the grievances, rolling back some other archaic rules here that would have not cost the company. Like reserve elitt to name one.

Just one pilots opinion. All I know is that swa has never let a good downturn go to waste. They play chess while we are still playing checkers.
Does today's ExTO/VSP offer count as a gesture of good will? A legitimate effort to avoid furloughs? I've yet to hear from anyone that's not more than surprised by the offer and it seems there will be a lot of takers.
