Additional Points Tesla vs BMW/Mercedes
With a Tesla you don't get an ego stroking from commoners, like you do with your BMW fuel stops. Going weeks without visiting a local petroleum dispensary is refreshing. Avoiding the temptation of 44 oz for 99 cents poison dispensed inside is an added bonus.
With a Tesla, there isn't that morning panic when the low fuel light comes on. You always leave the house with a "full" tank. Forgetting to plug it in the night before is a 10x problem compared to a low fuel light that can be fixed by with your lawnmower's gas can or a 5 minute fuel stop.
With a Tesla, you will forget about the hassle of routine maintenance. You don't make quarterly visits to Jiffy Lube or spend hundreds of dollars on your semi annual Mercedes A/B services. Don't try arguing this as a cost savings, you paid for the convenience up front when you bought the vehicle. Regenerative braking probably doubles the brake pad life too.
With a Tesla, you get over the air software updates that periodically improve the vehicle. It's like updating your cell phone or iPad with the latest OS version. Sometimes it's just a minor fix you don't even notice, other times you find a cool new feature.
Tesla navigation is based on live data, you don't get the privilege of paying $199 per year for updates to a static in car navigation database. A recent update added sharing of Google Maps address with the in car navigation. It's much better than the Android Auto or Apple Car Play navigation options. The 17" nav display combined with the in dash supplement is awesome eye candy.
