I am planning on getting furloughed on OCT1 along with probably about 1000-1500 other Delta pilots. last time Delta furloughed, 1,310 pilots got furloughed and even with something like 2,000 retirements it still took 6 years to recall everyone and start hiring again. hope it does not take that long this time but I really dont know.

also if your friends in the military leave now and delta starts hiring 2-3 years from now they will not be current in a much more competitive hiring environment. probably better to keep a flying job to remain competitive. delta also has about 3-4 hundred poolies that I really hope get an offer before any hiring off the streets resumes
