I apologize for a little thread drift here, but sorry to hear about the melanoma. I survived a malignant melanoma by pure dumb luck when my wife spotted a discolored reddish area on the crown of my head. She's only 5' tall so rarely saw that part of my head, I just happened to bend over to pick up something while she was in front of me. Pilots get melanomas at twice the rate of the general public, about the same as farmers and others who spend a lot of time outdoors. I visit the Skin Doc every year or two to be scanned from head to foot. Good idea to use a mirror or another person to check yourself every so often. Anything discolored should be checked out. /End of PSA
