Didnt say 3000 would make you a good captain. Just saying i wouldn't want my family in an airplane with a 1500 hr captain and 250 hr FO flying into Boston during winter. I believe flying airliners is an apprenticeship and you cant learn how to be a captain in around a yr unless you come in with alot of previous experience, i.e, the 3000 hr suggestion. just my opinion
