One of the strongest weekends for Allegiant was the Memorial Day holiday. Drew Wells, Vice President of Revenue, said that Allegiant flew about eight percent of all travelers going through a TSA checkpoint this year. Last year, that figure was about two percent.

There is reason to believe that single type airlines (and perhaps Alaska which appears to be headed back to a single type airline) with little if any international flying will have a serious advantage over the Big Three in the recovery Phase unless the International flying comes back more rapidly than expected. WN management has already indicated a desire to seize a higher share of domestic flying.
