I see a lot of posts about company bluffs, negotiation tactics, FUD, etc. I don't really understand where it is coming from. According to the latest correspondence I had with my union rep we are not currently negotiating anything other than an early out. I think the company's plan is exactly what they have been saying all along. Much smaller airline with a multi year recovery. They think they can make this bid work because there is no requirement to train everyone in a year, just convert them.
The company keeps saying they hope voluntary programs prevents the furloughs which I assume means early outs or personal leaves. No mention of concessions.
