I can guarantee you’d want a mask on your (and their) face if you were in an elevator with a covid19 positive individual.

Or perhaps you’ve just decided wearing a
Mask is “liberal” and “everything libs do is bad” so you feel the need to trash talk people wearing masks in an attempt to slow the spread of a virus that is threatening your own career. God forbid you wear a mask for a couple months when you walk around Walmart so we can save someone’s grandma and get these virus numbers down so people start to fly again. No one is trying to steal your rights, we just don’t want you and 50M other people walking around potentially spreading a virus. What a massive inconvenience it must be
Nope, not a saying it’s liberal at all. Just that there is a false sense of security in many by wearing a mask. I personally wouldn’t take an elevator that is full, never have, never will. I prefer the stairs. I also wash my hands after using the bathroom. I observe a vast amount of people in airport bathrooms that do not wash their hands. Same people going to buffets. I also don’t stand in people’s personal space when dealing with them. I think there is a time and a place for a mask. I don’t think wearing one on a walk around is realistic, I also don’t think wearing one in the airplane does much to help when you fly around on a full flight.
We are talking about a virus that as we get more data on, is less than 1% mortality rate. Still, the data is very questionable since many deaths are not being reported the correct way.
What makes more sense to me is protecting the people who are at risk, not shutting down the whole economy to protect the few. If you have been to work, or demonstrating your BLM rights, it may not be a bright idea to go see grandma in the nursing home or take a chance with someone who is compromised.
So if it makes you feel better to wear a mask when you are walking around by yourself or driving your car, or going for a walk, go for it. I use one when I go to the grocery store out of respect for the older folks who work there, but I also practice everything else I always have and in my 50 years, I’ve never been in the hospital, or contracted the flu. The only things I’ve had were hangovers and food poisoning from crappy layover food.
Like I said, if it’s not an N95 mask, it’s about useless.
