You're mistaken about the wing...it's basically a glider the way it is now. It has a 11:1 glide ratio if i remember correctly...floats like a banshee
I imagine it would with that aspect ratio.
I should have clarified: I imagine at moderate to high AoA, turbulent flow starting at the upper intake lip would be messy under the wing root. (ie, maneuvering-combat flight).
But I can see that at cruise or armed overwatch, AoA would be low, and that is not a consideration.
