Just some FYI, no 05 hire things he got a good deal. They all think they got screwed. Only some legacy united pilots think they made out well. Pretty much everybody thinks they got ripped off except for the guy who ended up number 1. . An 05 hire lost around 15% relative seniority. And yes I realize relative nor date of hire are part of the merger policy.

I flew with many of ‘05 hires, many good dudes, but screwed they were not. They’ve barely spent any time on reserve since hired, slotted in with 97 hires, and kept their express longevity for pay, pass travel and vacation.
Not saying they made out, but when some would start complaining about being screwed I’d just reply with how I wished I’d would slid over to UAL at 10 year pay with 07 pass travel DOH instead of ‘15 and got to enjoy 3-5 weeks of vacation a year after my close to a decade flying UAX.
