Quote: Doesn’t matter what industry you are in. This isn’t a new story. Management works a deal with senior union people to scratch their back, in turn they get the ball rolling. Looking out for #1 is the biggest weakness of any union and management knows how to exploit it. People selected got a deal to initially get it going.

The deal:

X hours per month (more than 76hrs) times their current rate for x months.

This gives management the ability to not have to negotiate rates up front. These guys get the program running, then every CA in the line will do it for the same rate they were making as an RJ driver. Watch and see. They will do it for the type rating and time in hopes of moving on. Guess you don’t need a security clearance to understand what’s going on. Just ask a check airmen who got hand selected out of seniority order to start the program.

People do what benefits them the most, it’s the weakness of every union.
there was a rate. There were min hours over what the co wanted. But the exact amount is generally unknown but think atlas minus a few percent.
