JB is not out of the woods, but the last time United shrunk and furloughed pilots we got trashed in the merger. A merger with JB now would be a huge windfall for anyone at JB, unless we got the American/US Air deal, with 85% weighting on longevity. Over 7,000 pilots at United have more longevity than the #1 JB pilot. Strictly from a status and category standpoint, United just got rid of 1,500 status and category pilots.
let’s not have this theoretical discussion, as it really serves no purpose other than to pi$$ people off. Suffice it to say I’m not worried about Ual buying any more airlines, with the bigger fish to fry right now. We still haven’t fully healed some of the fractures caused from the Continental purchase.
