As PIC, as you know, you're responsible of course and most likely will be sitting with a new green FO straight out of IOE and that will drive it home. When I first upgraded, it drove it home for me. With 90% of your flying in the spring and summer in the vortex, you will shoot routinely to 200VV PSM MVY/ACK without question. Its not a big deal once you do it again and again, but it is different. You must be on top of your game. Throw all of that with a new plane, complex avionics and a lot of "comfortability" flies right out of the window. Compile that with the operation to learn it can be overwhelming depending on how you organize your time and run your ship.

That's fair, makes sense. Thank you for elaborating.
Do they upgrade FO's to captain as soon as they have the minimums or how does that process work?
Thank you for your help
