If that treatment is adequate for that patient, damn right. It is clear that overuse of ventilators early on in this pandemic caused INCREASED mortality. If someone doesn’t absolutely REQUIRE a ventilator they are far better off not to be on one.
Even as we are finding a lot more cases (and the CDC is acknowledging that there are far more asymptomatic cases that were not being discovered than they at first realized - the current estimate upped from 30% to 90% - deaths have been coming down:
And yeah, I know that there is a lag time and yada yada, but most of the decrease in mortality is due to younger infected and less aggressive ventilator use.
