Mass protests could work too. I agree that protests are not a good idea. But at least they are outside, many of the people we’re wearing masks.
another wrinkle is that the protests were by in largely organized by private individuals. Where as a MAGA rally is inside, people are ostracized if they wear a mask, and it’s organized on behalf of the office holder of the most prominent public position
