When they got the contract with continental, CHQ was under the impression they were going to get 145s from XJet, but Xjet stood their ground and they had the option to keep the planes and they did just that, and they started their branded flying with those airframes.
So heres CHQ with a new contract and no 145s to be found, so they had to go out to the desert and fix up some CRJs, it was never in RAHs management interests to add another type to the fleet! Its more expensive, but there were no 145s to be found! So the CRJs were a quick messy fix to get the flying started and now they are getting more and more 145s online with continental! And i am sad to say it (insert not), but yes the CRJ is going away and eventually every CHQ 145 with a delta, usairways, or united paint job, will eventually be a continental bird whilst S5 and RW take over the flying that CHQ used to do on the other codeshares! In a few years chautauqua will most likely be exclusive to CAL and American Connection! If not gone all together! We'll see! The thing about airlines is everything is subject to change! Welcome aboard!
I'm totally ok with flying the CRJ, so long as I still have a job when they go away. Even if it means crossing over to an Embraer product still in the right seat. I just hope we (CRJ folks) are treated right thats my only concern. Thanks for the info Scary Kite, I really appreciate it.
