Any information would be helpful. I really like the idea of being home almost every night.
Indy is not a base. You're either in South Bend or Evansville, and as far as I know Indy isn't going to become a base. When you're scheduled, you're working 5/2. You're going to fly between 6 and 8 flight hours per day, depending on whether it's VFR or IFR, but keep in mind you're being paid DUTY time, not FLIGHT time, so for your paycheck, it doesn't matter how much you do or don't fly. You aren't expected to "pick up any additional duties" or do any "extra" work with the exception of punching your own pax weights into the weight and balance computer, which you'll do at ANY cape base.
Your travel benefits are fully CASS approved on just about every domestic airline with the exception of Alaska Airlines. You'll walk up to any ticket counter at any airline in any airport in the US and politely ask for the jumpseat. If it's open, it's yours.
There is NO OTHER job like this in aviation. The culture is great, the flight time is there, there's really no abuse of any kind. There's not another job in this category that can get you the money or flight time that Cape Air can. The pilot group is an awesome bunch of peeps.
There are pilots out there who want to come to work and fly as little as possible. This is not your job. Go to Cape Air because you can appreciate a long day of honest, hard flying.
And you're home every night.
