The fact that the LUAL pilots immediately dismiss a rather tame interaction speaks volumes to their arrogance. Here’s a ditty from an ‘08 hire LUAL:
“I feel terrible saying some of this. And I apologise. But it is how I feel, and I am honest.
I never looked to anyone for help to get a job, or cash, except to my employer.
I put in my application, and stood on my own two feet.
I never asked anyone for help to get a job.
That is why I literally, never applied at Continental.
I didn't want to stick my hand out to friends for help.
And that is the kind of people that Continental hired. The whole walk in a friend in policy.
People who had no problem sticking their hands out.
I got here on my own.
I expect nothing from fellow employees except for proper Union representation.
I hope we would feel we are being properly represented if we were able to be a fly on the wall listening to what is going on inside.
12 years on seniority list, 6 on property. 54 years immersed in everything aviation knowing what to expect in an airline career. Knowing we will get furloughed before I took the job.”
